Error codes

Maintain manufacturer error codes per brand and model, look them up on the vehicle and add matching spare parts straight to the order

→ Open vehicles · Open vehicle settings

When an e-bike, scooter or car shows an error code on its display, you look it up directly on the vehicle: meaning, cause, fix and the spare parts usually needed for it. The codes belong to the brand and optionally to specific models, not to the individual vehicle. Once maintained, they're available on every matching vehicle.

Look up an error code on the vehicle

Open the vehicle

Under Vehicles, open the affected vehicle. The Fault codes card appears as soon as codes exist for the vehicle's brand and model. Without an assigned brand, the card points out that a brand has to be set first.

Search the code

Type the code exactly as the display shows it. The list filters immediately.

Expand the details

Clicking the code shows Cause, Remedy, Spare parts and the Source. A badge shows the severity (Information, Warning, Critical); codes not yet checked are marked Unverified.

Add a spare part to the order

Click Add to order next to a spare part, choose the order (pre-filtered to the vehicle owner's orders) and confirm with Add. The product is added to the order as a line item.

Vehicles → View is enough for looking codes up. Each code also has its own detail page with meaning, scope (whole brand, one model or a model pattern) and linked spare parts.

Maintaining error codes

Codes are maintained in the vehicle module settings in the Brands card. Every brand and every model there has the Fault codes action. The list shows Code, Meaning, Severity, Status, Origin and Parts.

You have three ways to capture codes:

ActionWhat happens
Add codeCreate a code by hand
Read from documentUpload the manufacturer's error code table as a PDF or photo (up to 20 MB). You review the result before anything is saved.
Find with AIThe AI searches the web for the brand's official codes. Everything found counts as unverified until you check it.

For document and AI search you see before Apply which codes are new and which update an existing one, and untick what you don't want. Larger manufacturer lists are imported as CSV or JSON via Import & export.

Fields of an error code

  • Code: exactly as the display shows it, e.g. E-001
  • Meaning, Cause and Remedy
  • Severity: information, warning or critical
  • Model pattern: leave empty and the code applies to the whole brand. A pattern matches every model name that contains it – g2 pro also covers "G2 PRO 2024".
  • Spare parts: products usually needed for this code. The technician adds them to the repair order with one click.

SimpliServ ships some codes as Preset. As soon as you change such a code it becomes Edited and our updates no longer overwrite it. Reset to preset restores the default.
