Manage, categorize and bill products and services
Products are the foundation for proposals, orders and invoices. They can represent physical items (e.g. spare parts), services or labour time, and they're central to billing in SimpliServ.
What is a product?
A product is a reusable line item with defined properties such as price, unit and tax. Products can be selected in proposals, orders and invoices, and adjusted individually there when needed.
Product properties
A product can carry the following information:
- Name & description
- Price
- Unit (e.g. piece, hour)
- VAT
- Active / inactive
- Product image
- Assignment to one or more categories
Inactive products stay in existing documents but can no longer be newly selected.
Typical use cases
- Spare parts or materials
- Services (e.g. repair, maintenance)
- Labour-time products for time tracking
- Flat-rate line items
Use in other areas
Products are centrally linked to:
- Proposals – as proposal line items
- Orders – for planning and processing
- Time tracking – labour time becomes billable automatically
- Invoices – the basis for correct billing
