Set up SMTP
Configure your own email sending via SMTP credentials
→ Open email settings in SimpliServ
By default, SimpliServ sends emails via its own infrastructure. With your own SMTP details you send under your domain – with full authenticity (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
Add SMTP details
Open the settings
Navigate to Administration → Email → SMTP.
Enter the credentials
Enter the following values:
- Host (e.g.
smtp.mailgun.org) - Port (usually 465 for SSL or 587 for STARTTLS)
- Encryption (SSL / TLS)
- Username and password
- Sender address and sender name
Test the connection
With Send test email you check whether sending works. Error messages are shown directly in the form.
Save and activate
After a successful test you activate sending. From now on all SimpliServ emails go out via your SMTP server.
Domain authentication
So that emails don't land in spam, be sure to set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC in your DNS records. You get the exact values from your SMTP provider.
Recommended providers
- Mailgun, Postmark, SendGrid – transactional, high deliverability
- Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace – with OAuth app passwords
- Your own mail servers
Fallback
If SMTP fails, SimpliServ's default sending kicks in automatically, so critical emails (invoices, confirmations) aren't lost.
