Scanning & serial numbers

Find products by barcode/QR, check stock per warehouse and manage serial numbers of individual devices

→ Open product info (scan) · Open serial numbers

For daily warehouse and workshop work, SimpliServ offers two fast tools: product info with a scan function to check stock instantly by barcode, and the serial-number overview to track individual devices across their entire lifecycle.

Product info by scan

You'll find the Product info page under Inventory → Product info. You select a product manually or scan its code – the result immediately shows all details and stock.

Scan a code or choose a product

Click Scan to open the camera, or type the name in the Search product… field. EAN, SKU or article number are scanned. The scanner supports EAN-8/13, Code 128 and QR codes; a USB-connected hand scanner works too.

Check stock per warehouse

After a hit, a table appears with Warehouse, Stock, Reserved and Available per location plus a total row. The available stock is colour-marked (green > 0, red < 0).

View serial numbers

If the product is serialized, a second block lists the associated serial numbers with status and warehouse (up to 25 per scan).

The scanner stays open after a hit, so you can check several products in a row. Camera features like flashlight, zoom and camera selection are available directly in the scanner dialog.

The stock values come from the same model as everywhere in SimpliServ – details on the reservation and availability logic are under Inventory logic & stock control.

Serial-number overview

The Serial numbers page under Inventory → Serial numbers shows each individual serial number as its own record – ideal for tracing where a specific device is and who it was delivered to.

Prerequisite: the product is set up as serialized (see Create a product). Only then does SimpliServ track serial numbers per unit.
