Attendance PIN
Set, change or remove your four-digit PIN for clock-in and user switching.
Your attendance PIN is a four-digit number that belongs to your account. It's needed in two places:
- Time tracking – at the tablet terminal you clock in and out with it without signing in.
- Switch user – on a shared device, coworkers can switch into your account from the profile menu by entering your PIN.
Without a PIN neither works: you can't clock in at the terminal and you don't show up in other people's Switch user menu at all. If nobody but you has set a PIN, the entry doesn't appear in the profile menu at all.
Where to find the PIN
Open User settings from your profile menu at the bottom left of the sidebar and stay on the Account & appearance tab. There you'll find the Attendance PIN card – right after the Security card. A badge shows whether a PIN is already set (PIN is set or No PIN set).
Set a PIN
Open the dialog
On the Attendance PIN card, click Set PIN.
Enter a new PIN
Type four digits on the keypad – your device's keyboard works just as well.
Confirm
Enter the same PIN a second time. If both match, it's saved and the badge switches to PIN is set. If they don't match, you start again with the new PIN.
Change your PIN
Click Change PIN. You first enter your current PIN, then the new one twice. The current PIN is checked right away – if you mistyped it, you find out before entering the new PIN twice.
After several failed attempts, input is locked briefly. The dialog then shows in how many seconds you can try again.
Remove your PIN
Remove PIN deletes your PIN after you've entered it once. After that you can neither clock in nor be selected as a switch target until you set a new PIN.
Forgot your PIN
You can't overwrite a forgotten PIN yourself – changing it requires the old one. Ask someone with admin rights: they can set a new PIN without knowing the old one. See Reset password & PIN.
