DEP export (RKSV)
A guide to the DEP7 export (RKSV data collection log) per register and period as a ZIP, including the auditor export for a register audit and automatic archiving.
→ Open the DEP export in SimpliServ
The data collection log (DEP7) is the machine-readable record of all fiscalized receipts of a register that you must be able to hand over to the tax administration during an audit under the Austrian cash-register security regulation (RKSV). In SimpliServ you generate the DEP7 export per register and period directly as a ZIP file.
The DEP7 export is only available when RKSV is enabled for your tenant. Without active RKSV, the server responds with an error message instead of a download. Background on fiscalization and the receipt types is under RKSV logic & fiscalization.
Where to find the export
You reach the DEP7 export in the navigation under Administration → Data & files → Exports. The associated page is titled Exports and contains two cards:
- Document archive export – immutable archive packages for invoices, delivery notes, proposals, estimates or receipts by period as a ZIP.
- DEP7 export – the data collection log of a register for a period.
For access you need the admin.exports.read permission. Without it, the page shows a note instead of the export cards.
Download the DEP7 export
Open the "Exports" page
Under Administration → Data & files → Exports, open the Exports page and scroll to the DEP7 export card.
Choose the register
In the Register field, choose the register whose log you want to export. The list contains all registers of your tenant.
Set the period
Set the start date and end date. The export works month by month: the start date is extended to the first of the month, the end date to the end of the month. So a period from 10 May to 20 June covers the complete months of May and June.
Download the ZIP
Click Download ZIP. SimpliServ assembles the file and starts the download automatically. The file is named following the pattern dep7-export-{REGISTER-ID}-{START}-{END}.zip.
The start date must be on or before the end date, otherwise the export aborts with an error message. Register, start date and end date are required fields.
What the ZIP file contains
The archive contains, per month of the period, its own DEP7 file in JSON format, named following the pattern dep7-{REGISTER-ID}-YYYY-MM.json. Each file is the complete data collection log of that month for the chosen register – exactly the format a register audit (cash register inspection) expects.
The data comes from two sources:
- Completed months are read from the immutable compliance archive in which SimpliServ stores the DEP7 logs audit-proof.
- The current, still-open month is pulled live from the fiscalization service (fiskaly), as long as it's within its export window (about two months).
If for a requested month there's no data either in the archive or via fiskaly (e.g. a period before the register was commissioned), the export aborts and names the missing months instead of producing an incomplete archive. In that case, choose a period that only contains covered months.
Auditor export for the register audit
Besides the pure DEP7, SimpliServ provides a complete handover package for the register audit. You start it not from the exports page but in the detail view of a register under Register via the Auditor export action. It bundles everything a tax audit typically requires into a single ZIP file (pruefer-export-kasse-{REGISTER-ID}-{START}-{END}.zip):
manifest.json– master data: company (name, VAT ID, account holder), register (name, register identification number, RKSV status), signature unit (certificate serial number, status) as well as the FinanzOnline authentication status and receipt counts.belege.csvandbelege-steuern.csv– the receipt journal of all normal and cancellation receipts including net, VAT and gross amounts per tax rate.system-belege.csv– the system receipts (start, monthly, annual, closing and error-recovery receipt), shown separately from revenue.z-berichte.csv– the day-ends (Z-reports) of the period.dep7/– the DEP7 JSON files per month.Verfahrensdokumentation.mdandLIESMICH.txt– accompanying documentation and notes on any missing months.
The auditor export also requires active RKSV.
Automatic archiving in the background
You don't have to trigger the export manually to secure the data: SimpliServ archives the DEP7 logs of every fiscalized register automatically every month and regularly checks for gaps. The manual export draws from exactly this archive. More on the audit-proof storage is under GoBD archiving.
