Set up the register

Create registers, configure automatic day-end and automatic opening, and design the receipt layout for the register.

→ Open registers in SimpliServ → Open receipt settings in SimpliServ

Before you sell at the register, you set up the registers and the receipt layout. Both are under Administration → Register: the Registers list for the devices themselves and Receipt settings for the look of the printed receipts.

This page describes the setup. The daily flow – open a session, sell, Z-report, cancellation – is in the POS guide.

Create a register

Open the "Registers" module

Under Administration → Register, go to Registers and click New register.

Capture master data

Fill in the fields in the New register form:

  • Register name – identifies the register in the payment flow (e.g. "Main register").
  • Location description – an optional note such as floor, room or terminal (e.g. "Entrance · Counter").
  • Warehouse – the default warehouse for this register point.
  • Active – deactivate the register to remove it from selections without deleting it.

Save

Create it with Save register. The new register appears in the list with the session status, RKSV marker and operator.

Automatic day-end

Instead of closing each session manually, SimpliServ can end a register's session automatically each day and send the day-end. Enable Automatic day-end in the register form and configure:

  • Time – the daily closing time in HH:MM format (e.g. 20:00).
  • Format – Receipt (80 mm) for the thermal printer or PDF (A4).
  • Email recipients – comma-separated addresses to send the day-end to. If you leave the field empty, the session is only closed but nothing is sent.

Automatic opening

With Automatic opening, this register's session opens by itself on set weekdays, so you can start selling in the morning right away.

Enable the function

Switch on Automatic opening.

Set opening days & times

Enable each weekday you want (Monday to Sunday) and enter the opening time in HH:MM format. At least one day must be active.

Apply the time to all (optional)

Via Apply time to all → Apply to active days you set one time in one step for all enabled days.

Design the receipt layout

Under Administration → Register → Receipt settings you adjust how the printed receipt looks. A preview runs alongside, and with Test print you produce a sample receipt as a PDF.

By default the receipt looks exactly as before. With Reset to default you restore the factory layout at any time.

General layout

  • Receipt width – paper width in millimetres (30–200 mm, default 80 mm). Common are 58, 80 or 110 mm.
  • Font size – scales the whole receipt. Larger values are easier to read but make the receipt longer (Small, Standard, Large, Very large).
  • Logo on the receipt – upload your own receipt logo. Without one, the company logo is used.
  • Print the logo on the receipt – show/hide the logo.
  • Logo position – Receipt start or Receipt end.
  • Logo size – 100%, 75% or 50%.

Company name

  • Show company name – show/hide the company-name line under the logo.
  • Company name font – Courier (default), Arial / Helvetica, Times New Roman or DejaVu Sans.
  • Company name font size – Small to Very large.

Receipt header fields

Decide which company details appear in the receipt header. Each item is an individual toggle: email, phone number, website, IBAN and BIC.

Text & QR code

  • "Thank you" line – prominent thank-you text above the footer.
  • Footer – custom text at the end of the receipt (e.g. opening hours or return notes), with a formatting editor.
  • QR code position – Before the footer or After the footer.

The fiscal QR code is mandatory on every RKSV receipt and can't be removed – you can only position it before or after the footer.

Fiscalization (RKSV)

A marker shows the RKSV status per register – in the register list and the register view: RKSV active, RKSV test mode or RKSV not activated. Manual key or certificate configuration isn't needed in this area.

How the start, zero and annual receipt and fiscalization work in detail is in the RKSV guides:

Permissions

  • View registers requires the cash-registers.view permission, Create cash-registers.create, Edit cash-registers.update.
  • The receipt settings are part of the tenant settings and require admin.settings.view to view and admin.settings.update to save.

You manage roles and permissions under Users & roles.

  • Point of sale (POS) — the daily flow at the set-up register: open a session, sell, Z-report, cancellation.
  • Digital receipt — additionally pass the printed receipt on to customers via link or QR code.
  • RKSV logic & fiscalization — how fiscalization, number ranges and POS receipts work in detail.
