Set up an email app

Login details for every email app, why you use IMAP instead of POP3 and the guides for iPhone, Mac, Outlook, Gmail, Samsung and Thunderbird

Your mailbox works in every common email app – on your phone, on a Mac, in Outlook or in Gmail. All devices see the same emails and folders as long as they connect with IMAP. Below are the values every app needs, followed by the step-by-step guide for your app.

Your login details

These values apply to every mailbox at SimpliServ, whatever the domain:

SettingValue
Server (incoming and outgoing)mail.simpliserv.app
User nameyour full email address, e.g. [email protected]
Passwordyour mailbox password (you get it from your admin)
Incoming (IMAP)port 993, encryption SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)port 465, encryption SSL/TLS – alternatively port 587 with STARTTLS
Authenticationpassword (normal), turned on for outgoing mail
Webmailwebmail.simpliserv.app

Always enter mail.simpliserv.app as the server – not mail.your-company.com or your old provider's server. Only then does the security certificate match and the app won't report a certificate error.

IMAP instead of POP3

Please don't use POP3

Many apps offer POP or POP3 during setup. Always choose IMAP. With POP3 a device downloads the emails and often deletes them from the server: they are then missing in webmail, on your phone and for your colleagues, sent emails and folders aren't synced, and if the device breaks, the emails are gone. With IMAP everything stays on the server and looks the same on every device.

If you have an existing account set up with POP3, Moving to SimpliServ has the steps to switch it to IMAP without losing any emails.

Guide for your app

Don't want to install an app? Webmail works in any browser without setup.

If something doesn't work, see Setup problems. Admins can find out in Email for admins how to create mailboxes and connect them to SimpliServ.
