Custom components
Create custom buttons for tickets and orders that start a workflow or set a field with one click – with permission-based visibility and display condition
Custom components are buttons you place yourself in the header of tickets and orders. A click starts a workflow or writes a value into a custom field – for example "Create invoice" or "Pickup today". You find the list under Administration → Layout & fields → Custom components; the old address for ticket settings (/dashboard/admin/modules/customer-flows) redirects here.
The list
The table shows all components with Name, Type (Ticket or Order), Kind (e.g. Button) and Status. Via the row menu you can Edit or Delete a component – once deleted it disappears from all tickets and orders.
Create a button
Choose the type
Click New component and choose whether the button applies to tickets or orders.
Label and appearance
Enter the Label (e.g. "Create invoice") and choose Variant and Size.
Define the action
Choose a workflow with a manual trigger that starts on click (or No workflow). Alternatively or additionally use Set field on click: the button writes Today's date, a Fixed value into a custom field or chooses Clear field – without any workflow.
Visibility
Set which permission is needed to see the button – that way you control via roles who gets it (default: Everyone sees the button). Under Only show button when you can tie it to a field: Field is empty or Field is filled – or Always show.
Activate and save
Only buttons with Active appear in the header. Save; SimpliServ confirms with Button created.
Buttons can also be arranged and edited directly on a ticket or order in Edit mode. You find the entry point in the order settings under Edit custom components.
Tips
- Create the workflow first and test it manually before attaching it to a button. See Workflows.
- Use "set field" for simple status markers like "Customer informed on" – you need a matching custom field for it.
- Hide buttons via a condition once they're done (e.g. "only show if pickup date is empty") so nobody clicks twice.
